Seven Stars 10 Box

セブンスター・10・ボックス

セブンスター・10・ボックス launched on 1 May 1990, eleven months after セブンスター・カスタムライト in November 1989, and both were eventually retired — the Custom Light in October 1995, the 10 in December 2018. The intervening decades turned this into the most durable low-tar Seven Stars.

The lineage is more tangled than the name suggests. A soft-pack セブンスター・10 also existed from 1 July 2014 to December 2018, and Wikipedia records it as the de facto revival of the 1990 Custom Light — same leaf, same idea, reissued. JT kept the box and dropped the soft pack, so the 10 mg slot has always been a box slot.

What is inside has stayed constant throughout: the domestic blend and the charcoal filter, at 10 mg tar and 0.9 mg nicotine. The 0.9 mg figure has never been contested by either source.

The current box is the survivor of a 2014 four-SKU refresh of the low-tar range, the same day the Seven Stars 1 and Seven Stars 4 appeared. Only this one and its 7 mg sibling are still listed by JT; the 1 mg and 4 mg versions were withdrawn in 2017 and 2023 respectively.

Rating

None yet. All three axes are zero, which the site reads as “not rated” rather than as a score of nought, so the rankings table shows a dash until somebody writes them.
